LOTE Assistant – Indonesian

​An experienced Indonesian Assistant is required to provide both in-class support and withdrawal lessons for students learning Indonesian from Year 7 to 12, under the guidance of the Indonesian Language Teachers and Head of LOTE Faculty. This is a casual position, working 2-3 hours per week.

Position Summary

The role of the Assistant will be to provide targeted support to enhance student’s learning of the Indonesian Language including extension opportunities, small group oral lessons, building foundational language skills and creating authentic resources.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant (or applicants) will:

  • Provide in class support for students learning Indonesian from Years 7-12
  • Be able to support withdrawal lessons doe students learning Indonesian from Years 7-12

Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience or skills in the following areas:

  • Fluency with the Indonesian Language and ideally experience teaching Indonesian at a Secondary level from Year 7 to 12
  • Demonstrated understanding of VCE Indonesian and detailed understanding of the Study Design requirements
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting
  • Ability to develop respectful relationships with students and staff
  • An understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children
  • Professional practice that is strongly aligned with the expectations of a Woodleigh Teacher

Highly desirable skills:

  • Experience with VCE level Indonesian
  • Native speaker of Indonesian
