I thank you as parents for supporting us in preparing your child for a smooth start. It is an exciting time: new shoes, new uniform, lunch boxes, a different classroom, new and old friends and teachers all add to the fun of starting the school year. We value your effort to have your child at school by 8:30 am ready to start the school day at 8:45 am and have very much appreciated all children arriving on time to start the year. We don’t like them to miss out on anything!
Routines both at home and school are likewise important, especially during the school week. A good night's sleep is essential along with healthy meals and a smooth sense of calm before heading to bed. As your child’s first educator, do continue the bedtime stories and assist your child to prepare for the next day. For older students in Year 3 to 6, you will have heard about the diary routine. Parents are teachers too – it helps so much when we are all working together.
I also thank parents for supporting the school with the uniform changes – the children all look super in the new gear.
On behalf of the staff, I again welcome you to Woodleigh School’s Penbank Campus. It is with absolute pleasure that I can report that Andrea Khoza is now officially in the role of Deputy Head. Andy possesses wonderful leadership qualities and intuitively fosters an inclusive approach that positively supports the wellbeing and development of others. We also welcome to our team, Esther Holt (Music), Lisa Coxon and Arcadia Shannon-Jones (Early Learning), and the return of Tracy Ritchie (Early Learning) following her Maternity Leave.
May your year be full of new adventures and exciting aspirations.
