"When you see butterflies or rainbows, think of me."

Parents and friends of the school may have heard the very sad news of the recent passing of Bonnie Daniello following a long and courageous fight with cancer. Bonnie graduated from Woodleigh in 2019 and was one of Woodleigh's most colourful and jewel-like students – she was colour and light, positivity and compassion, gratitude, courage, optimism and resilience. Our condolences are with Dee, Michael, Millie and Harry, as well as her friends and everyone in the Woodleigh community who are grieving with us at this sad time.

Bonnie's passing has been deeply felt by all who knew her, especially in Senior Homestead, where her brother Harry is completing Year 12.

In times of grief, the support of our friends and peers is vital – a complicated and challenging task in this time of separation. We encourage parents, where appropriate, to discuss this with your children and contact the School for support when required. Help is available to students through their tutors, teachers, and the Pathways team.

Bon's favourite charity was My Room Children's Cancer Charity, whose mission is to work towards a 100% cure rate for childhood cancers. She was a great supporter and advocate for My Room – so please consider making a donation in her memory.

Bonnie's Memorial

Bonnie's memorial service will be held on Thursday 23 September at 9.15am.
Due to COVID restrictions, it will be live-streamed here. All are welcome to join the service and remember Bonnie.

We will notify families when we can come together to celebrate and remember Bonnie, hopefully in the not-too-distant future.
