What a beautiful end of term we have had in Year 2 to finish off the year!
We have certainly made the most of our time back together and have been busily learning and exploring right up to our final day. The students have worked very hard in our last Unit of Inquiry this semester. They have experimented with different materials and their properties to create a range of artwork and designs. It was beautiful to see them put their understanding into practice as they made their 'Christmas' themed pieces.
The return to site also allowed us to return to our Discovery Day sessions, revisiting the Frankston Beach and Sweetwater Creek. We were so fortunate with the weather shining on us for the last few sessions and leaving such happy memories for the Year 2s in their time in the program.
On Friday, we spent some time reflecting on our memories with Oscar, leaving us for new adventures in America in 2022. Everyone at Minimbah will greatly miss him, and we look forward to his return in the years to come.
I want to thank every member of our class for such an incredible year. Despite the unexpected changes, they never lost their enthusiastic spirit and ability to see the positive. I don't think I will sing happy birthday again without laughing at how terrible it sounded on Zoom and how much we loved doing it! I am so grateful for the laughter, memories, and learning we have shared this year.
A final thank you goes to you for all the support you have given them throughout the year. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas, and I wish you a lovely and (well deserved) relaxing Summer break!!
