Light The Way, Penbank Finale

Penbank's End of Year finale, Light The Way, was spectacular—an enchanting evening dedicated to showcasing the culmination of our educational journey in 2023.

Guided by our exploration of the arts within the framework of our inquiry unit, ‘How we express ourselves,’ we’ve delved into the creative realms throughout Term 4. Tonight’s experience promises a mixture of our artistic expressions, featuring musical compositions and soundscapes, visual art displayed in props and backdrops, as well as captivating performances in dance, acting, storytelling and song.

Collaborating closely with their teachers and the dedicated specialist staff, each year level has meticulously crafted a unique performance that encapsulates a significant aspect of their learning throughout the year. This year, we have a showcase of stories, all with messages to help us light the way towards a brighter future. We invite you to immerse yourself in the grand finale showcase and enjoy observing the essence of our collective educational journey.

Foundation students shared a childhood favourite story, 'Giraffes Can't Dance'.

Year 1 students took us on a vibrant and energetic migration through the African jungle.

Year 2 students spent time investigating the natural resources and the human impact on our world.

Year 3 & 4 students showcased their work from the trashion parade and the Boite School Chorus.

Year 5 students were inspired by the pantomime the saw at Sovereign Hill camp, and wanted to create something humourous with a serious message.

Year 6 students used their experience making their 4 chord song to spotlight the differences and similarities we all share.

The whole of Penbank then came together to sing 'Lanterns' by Birds of Tokyo.

We hope you enjoyed a night celebrating the arts, lighting the way to a more peaceful, kind, inclusive and sustainable future.
